- Grading Policy:
- You will be required to complete all assigned work by the date due.
- Assignments (including projects) 1-5 school days late will be worth 80% or lower
- Assignments (including projects) 5-10 school days late will be worth 50% or lower
- Assignments (including projects) over 10 schools days late will receive a zero (special circumstances allowed)
- You have 2 days after your last day absent to turn in work that was due during your absence. Additional time can be granted, but student must arrange details with teacher ASAP and may need to stay after school to get caught up.
- A quiz or test can be corrected if the score is lower than 70%. Requests for retake must come from students within two days of receiving the scored quiz or test. The new score will not be greater than 80%. This policy will not be in effect for the 4th quarter.
- Grading will be based on a points earned system. The points available for each assignment will be clearly stated on any handout or in the portal.
- Binders:
- You will be required to have a binder for social studies class.
- The binder should be divided into two separate categories: notes and handouts
- Students should have materials ready for class including a pencil and/or pen. Students will be graded on preparation spontaneously.
- You should have an additional supply of white-lined paper in your binder. Classroom teacher will have a limited supply.
- Procedures:
- All handbook policies will be strictly enforced in this classroom.
- Students are required to be seated with materials out and on task within a reasonable timeframe.
- Students who are tardy to class will need to have a pass or will make up the time after school.
- Students will need to sign in and out as they use the bathroom.
- No one will be dismissed until desks are aligned, text books (if being used) are back where they belong, and all trash is off the floor.
- If using Ipads or laptops, they all must be in proper location before class will be dismissed.
